The End of Civilisation ....

Not many sports that I don't enjoy (watching that is) but Cricket generally bores me to death. This therefore amused me:-

I can remember many years ago seeing a cartoon strip with Gog and Magog.
Gog had just invented the bow and arrow, and Magog was wringing his hands and crying "Now this will be the end of the world and civilisation as we know it"
Without realising it he had just invented the earliest form of Artillery.

tried archery once, god I was proud of that blood bruise down my arm for the next two weeks Got bored when they insisted i used the sights, at which point i coudl barely hit the target when before i had been a damned good aim.

i really enjoyed archery. however his nibs has discovered i'm a natural shot with an air rifle. now all i need do is get access to a gun club...

 

Yes i may trust you with an air rifle but i'm not sure i would trust you with a higher calibre.

I had heard this before that cricket came from Belgium. Still it was the Brits who transformed the game Cricket.

 

and made it almost as boring as old men's marbles.

And watch i corporal, you know i am on course for getting my hands on a gimpy :>

 

I don't think I would let her handle my Remington .243 or the Winchester .44 magnum rifle either.

Even my high powered Air Rifle would be in doubt.

you think honey? seeing as Ross has said he'll arrange for me to go shooting with a gumpy, an SLR and any other high powered gun they have down there, then you pal could be in serious trouble Especially as i intend to bring back souvenirs, and there are still minefields :>
