In October Congress passed the National Heritage Areas Act 2006 which included two Revolutionary War battle sites and areas . The two sites are the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership in Vermont and New York , and the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage area in New Jersey . The Act also directs the Department of Interior - National Park Service - to study suitability for designation of several other sites as National Heritage areas , including the Southern Campaign of the Revolution Heritage Area in North and South Carolina .
The people working on these National Heritage Areas have worked hard and should be commended and supported .
