Thanks for the many suggestions as to how to get rid of the snakes. I think the I will go with the moth balls as it seems to be the most economical.

Kitty's car battery suggestion was the weirdest, too Redneck for me!

Next thing she will be suggesting I get some tractor tires, paint them white and use them for planters!

Tyres stacked up are good for growing tatties in. keep adding on to make the plants go higher and get more tatties. :D

And i am considering the car battery as I have to handle locks and meal doors when opening up where i work in a country park. Lets say we have a lot of dog walkers and their dogs....

    And Heidi? :p

I'm with you Kyt. Spiders give me heart failure and it would terrify me to think that a snake was lurking under the decking - thank heavens our patios are paved.

David: if the moth balls work, not only will they keep snakes out - they'll also keep snakes in! Get a pet mongoose - worked for us here in Trinidad - (you don't keep chickens do you?)

You need to buy pigs...They kill and sometimes eat snakes.

Awesome, Jerome. Did you call it Rikki-tikki-tavi? There's no other name that really fits, is there?

Another encounter! I'm hoping the liberal sowing of moth balls has driven it out from under my deck.

I escorted it off the premises but not before I took pictures.

I'm too late to warn Kyt not to look at the photos!!!!

David it is huge - can't you put some mothballs at the bottom of the tree so that it has to stay up there? Apologies to any animal lovers but snakes and spiders are exempt as far as I am concerned.

Nice pictures Dave ... I shall add them to my album. I've asked Pappa Blacksnake, he thinks it may be one of Aunt Sisssy's boys, don't know what she's been feeding him 'cause he's a bigun ... LOL

Glad the panics over Dave ... Any more trouble and I'll get Pops to give Sisssy a bell for you mate.
