Im young (14 years old), so im not expecting to fit in perfectly here. But my family has been majorly involved in the US Navy and the Marines and i love military history so i decided to join this site. Anyways, i am very interested in the Pacific during WWII. I got really into that after reading Flags of our Fathers and wondering how the Marines got past the beach on Iwo Jima. My grandfather was a Marine sergeant in Vietnam and my great grandfather was a Corpsman in WW2. My father was really close to joining the Navy, but decided against it right as he was about to walk into the recruiting office.
