WWI Victory Parades in London

    I love these old pictures !! :) .... there's quite a few on here if you feel like browsing !! :rolleyes:


    They show New Zealand and Australian troops taking part in two victory parades - the Lord Mayor's Procession, held just before the signing of the armistice on 11 November 1918, and the Dominion troops victory march in May 1919.

    Well done LA,
    Some wonderful shots there.
    Fascinating shots of the captured aircraft, the civvies would have loved seeing them.

    No I didn't LA,
    I'm about to follow the link.
    Having just arrived back from Gallipoli, this may not be a good idea.
    Getting off the bus at Anzac Cove, I was actually blubbering.
    Thank god I was surrounded by other Aussies.
    No one said a word.
    I had wanted to go there since I was about eight years of age.
    El Alamein was a bonus.

    Just finished looking at the photos.
    Very moving.
    Can't believe I was standing at ANZAC Cove & looking up at the Phinx.
