William Evan Allan - last Australian to fight in World War I

    The last Australian to fight in World War I, William Evan Allan, from Victoria, died at the age of 106 in 2005
    The former sailor, also the sole surviving Australian veteran of both world wars, was given a state funeral. Mr Allan, then aged 14, enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy as a boy sailor before the outbreak of World War I.
