Apparently, Chiune Sugihara, wrote travel visa's from his post as a diplomat in Lithuania. The Jews that escaped ended up in Kobe, Japan as well as Canada, New Zealand, Burma and Australia. What do you guys think of this fascinating story?:

First time I heard about him, but I heard a few other stories of diplomats creating fake passports to help Jews escape the Nazi regime. The ones that come to mind are Feng-Shan Ho who issued travel visas to the Jews living in Viena and Raoul Wallenberg who created fake passports for Jews living in Budapest.
