My Father always thought that one of the bravest assaults he ever witnessed, was by the Maori Battalion of the 2nd NZ Division. They scaled and took the hill of Takrouna, near Enfidaville I think, in broad daylight.

Did something similar at Gallipoli. Our guide told us the Maoris scaled one of the hills near the Sphinx in half an hour. He had tried it several weeks before and it took him four hours with just a backpack.
