I get a bit of lag when going to a new thread. It's a bit quicker at home. Clear my cookies but no major change noticeable.
I am finding both ww1 & ww2 slow at the moment. I have put it down to the change to the new server who probally is working on it. mg: :agree:
I think it's the first day back to work for a lot of people after the holidays ..... probably an internet jam !! lane: Not just these two sites ... it's everywhere today !!
As Annie says, everyone back at work and more access to internet, so the servers are experiencing a bit of a jam. Also anyone based outside of the UK will have a slower response since we moved back to more reliable server in the UK. Sorry about that. We did try to find a relaible server overseas, but in the end we decided that we were best served in the UK. We were proved right.
Someone else noticed. The site has been terrible for me.:jaw: It takes forever to submit a post, and it takes forever to get into a thread. And when you click on ww2chat . com it takes forever to load.!!!!!:deadhorse::embarassed::fish:
For those who are experiencing a slow load can you do this for me Windows XP users: Press start Then click run Type CMD When the black window opens type ping -t ww2chat.com Let it run for a few minutes then hold [ctrl] and C to stop it then copy and paste the results in this thread. Should look something like: Ping statistics for 78.129.180.27: Packets: Sent = 23, Received = 23, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 19ms, Maximum = 47ms, Average = 26ms
For vista users click the windows button then type CMD into the box at the bottom to open the command window
Ping statistics for (IP available if you need it Lee) Packets: Sent = 49, Received = 48, Lost = 1 (2% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 23ms, Maximum = 28ms, Average = 23ms
Here's mine: Ping statistics for 78.129.180.27: Packets: Sent = 149, Received = 149, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 327ms, Maximum = 377ms, Average = 329ms
Ping statistics for 78.129.180.27: Packets: Sent = 45, Received = 45, Lost = 0 (0% los Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 120ms, Maximum = 150ms, Average = 123ms
Here's mine too: Ping statistics for 78.129.180.27: Packets: Sent = 20, Received = 20, Lost = 0 (0% loss) Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 40ms, Maximum = 65ms, Average = 47ms
The network links are absolutely fine for everyone, Kyt, you had a small packet loss but nothing to worry about. I am about to rebuild the search logs to see if that helps but to be honest if its running slow on ww1talk with very little posts I am not sure it will help, but it will eliminate a few things. Let me know if its still as bad in about 15 minutes or so
I also notice a patch released as well, perhaps there has been an issue in the current version of the software, but again I am not seeing it run slow so its obviously not a global issue
