Why were the German sailors so mutinous at the Scapa Flow Scuttling ?

Was it just because of the scuttling or was there other things involved ??

There was a lot of other things going on Annie.

There was a lot of bad blood between officers and the men that was greatly influenced by events back in Germany just after the end of the war. Germany at one time was on the brink of a Russian style revoloutionary uprising that was only just suppressed. Many soldiers and sailors were briefly attracted to Communism ...

The men in general also blamed the prussian aristocracy [of which many officers belonged to] for their plight after the war.
