    Heres another one of those interesting snippets of information from the Commonwealth war Graves
    Commission website that just seem amazing to me !!

    In Memory of
    Rifleman ALFRED FIGES

    826, 3rd Bn., Rifle Brigade
    who died age 79
    on 30 November 1916
    (Served as WORD). Husband of the late Elizabeth Figes. Indian Mutiny Veteran.

    Remembered with honour
    LEWISHAM (LADYWELL) CEMETERY

    What sort of info are you looking for on here? Purely military or anything? I can find him on the family history route (I think!), but not outside of that at the mo!!

    Right then...you did say anything...!! It's not a common name and he's of the right age...

    There are service records of Alfred William Figes who I believe could be his son who does feature on the other census records. (the age fits)

    Will take another look today...once I have woken up!!:D

    You need to stop asking me....every one I look at doesn't seem to turn up much!!

    There is one record on A which is for Alfred William Figes born 1874. I can't really see much but I can send the pages to you if you want?
