    The Great Escape was on tellie again last night (and yep, I watched it for the umpteenth time :) ). I was also browsing the net and found an obit of one of the real Great Escapers whose experiences was used to create some of the composite characters in the film:

    A heck of a survivor. RIP.

    Eight crew seems a lot in a Wimpey but I guess we're talking the time of second pilots etc.
