    Portraits of Senior Commanders

The following portraits of many of the senior Austro-Hungarian commanders were rendered by the famous military artist Hauptmann Oskar Bruch in early 1915. A set of five folders each containing about forty likenesses was produced and titled "Unsere Heerführer". The ranks used in the table below are the last held ranks at the wars end and the illustrations illustrate the rank held in early 1915. Not only are the illustrations finely drawn but they also depict the rank insignia of the k.u.k. army extremely well
