hmm a silenced sub machine gun, one does wonder how effective the silencer was, and what effect it had on the gun's capability.

    Hi John,
Without looking back at the book where these were from, I think you will find the weapons are from top to bottom:-
9mm "Sten" sub machine gun Mk II.
9mm "Sten" sub machine gun Mk V
    Bren Machine gun.
    Le Enfield "SMLE" 303 rifle
    Le Enfield 303 rifle.
The first picture is of course named.

    Cheers

Thanks for posting these Keith, keep them coming. I remember firing the old bren gun when i first joined up before it was taken over by the GPMG. It was an awesome weapon which was perhaps too accurate on a tripod. The sten of as we called it the SMG was a good weapon for close quarters but no good for anything over 100 metres really. The trusty Lee Enfield was the choice weapon for Snipers for long after the war because of its accuracy and killing power. It was certainly favoured by yours truely for those reasons.

    Hi Sniper,
The one I wanted, for escort duties, instead of my Mk.IV Sten.

    Hi All
Another of the older weapons still proving usefull for certain jobs, this time without the grenade launcher.
Better to have a weapon you can trust?

Give me the good ole SLR anytime. It never let me down and i found it useful in all the places i fought. No matter it wasn't fully automatic, surprising what you could do with a matchstick in the blockhousing, hahaha.
