Once I have got rid of the Xmas visitors...I intend to continue this thread with various pics of items form my collection. I have loads of interesting items and I might even do a "guess the item" quiz attached to some of them... Just to start you off here are some WW1 re creations from the Great War Society... (Yes I know one of them is 1890...)
Great pics Scrimnet. I've always liked the Lewis, though being an aviationist, it has to be the jacketless BTW for added authenticity do you guys brew up with the water from the cooling jacket of the Vickers?
I gave a taster of this on another thread... The belt is a 1903 ptn which was used right up to WW2 by the regular forces and the Home Guard. The badges were placed on it during WW1 as most of them are peculiar to that time scale and the belt is well indented behind them. There are a number of rare ones on there, so I have kept it in an "as is" condition. It was known as a "Hate Belt" and could according to the collector contain anything from other Regts the soldier came into contact with to German items. It was worn under the tunic in undress situations. The incongruous Signals badge was there whilst the UDA badge was being cleaned ...
A small collection of family sweetheart brooches, Old Comrades, Imperial Service, SWB, Coronation and a couple of WW2 bits...
