An official memorial to the French war dead created by the French Ministry of Defence which would be of great value to family and military historians. It offers free access to databases created from the digitalization and indexation of biographical records preserved in the services of the Ministry of Defence. These include military records for French First world war Dead 1914-1918; Indo-china war 1946-1954; list of Resistance fighters and hostages shot by the Nazi on Mont Valérien during World War II; and Soldiers who died for France in Northern Africa (1952-1962) (Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco). Typical entries include names, ranks, causes of death, medals and other biographic details. Some information is offered in French only.
