The Library Company of Philadelphia has a very interesting website which contains much early American info. The focus is on American society and culture from the 17th-19th centuries. Benjamin Franklin founded the library in 1731, and when the national government was located in Philadelphia, the Library Company also served as the Library of Congress. The website is a great resource for anyone interested in American history.
