Today's date is when fighting happened at places like the Peach Orchard, Devil's Den, the Wheatfield, and Little Round Top as Lee tried to keep up the momentum from the previous day. As a bloody July 2 was ending, Pickett's division had arrived as well as Stuart's cavalry... also the VI Corps. Longstreet was trying to get General Lee to see the wisdom in a movement around the left flank of the Union Army, but Lee disagreed and decided to hit the right in the morning. Wonder how day three would have played out had he taken General Longstreet's advice?
