Items from the battlefields

    The thimble is from the British front line near Beaumont Hamel on the Somme and was part of a British soldier’s kit. The other two items are from Flanders, a sectioned German Mauser rifle round and a German porcelain stick grenade pull; this was attached by a wire to the detonator and was located in the bottom of the wooden handle All items lying on the surface, not dug up.
