The Encyclopedia of the First World War is an international project which is being created by teachers and students from several nations in order to provide an Internet resource for the study of the international, national and human effects of the conflict. Areas covered include battles, life in the trenches, military tactics and strategy, weapons, casualties and biographies of military leaders. As the entries are being compiled by young people, some of whom are school children, each entry contains short factual narrative. References are made to some primary source material including newspapers and soldier's journals and diaries. The site contains a large number of images of the conflict. http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/FWW.htm
