An extremely useful site which provides free online access to thousands of records from the collections of the Imperial War Museum (UK). The Imperial War Museum is internationally recognised for its holdings of books, film, photographic images, oral archives and documents relating to British and Commonwealth involvement in conflicts worldwide from 1914 to the present day. The online database provides a searchable catalogue of a growing percentage of these holdings. Each record includes full bibliographic details and in the case of some photos, sound recordings and documents direct access is enabled to the primary source. All major conflicts are covered including the First World War, Second World War, Korean War and Falklands War. An enormous range of topics are covered including: armies, navies and air warfare, logistics, weapons, war crimes, prisoners of war, civilians/women and warfare and the home front.
