    Mike ,
The book I was trying to think of earlier is The Road to Guilford Courthouse by John Buchanan a good book on the Rev War in the Carolinas .

    Mike,

Edwin C. Bearss wrote a short book about Cowpens many years ago:

"The Battle of Cowpens - A Documented Narrative & Troop Movement Maps"

I believe it's been reprinted. My friend's father loaned it to me a long time ago and it was quite good for a brief history of the battle.

Have you tried searching the NPS bookstores?  I used to order quite a bit from the "eparks" site, but recently they stopped taking online orders...not sure why.  You could probably still find something and order by phone or mail.

    Pam

p.s. You might also try searching the website of the Sons of the American Revolution. They have many interesting articles in their "archives" department.

Just thought I might get started here by resurrecting this old post with a big thumbs up to Ian Toll's book Six Frigates. I was also quite inspired by his account of the first US Navy actions.
