If you've been able to visit Civil War battlefields, which have they been? Gettysburg has always been, and always will be my very favorite. I live and breathe that place. Often while at Gettysburg, we drive an extra hour and visit Antietam (Sharpsburg, MD) There isn't nearly as much to see when it comes to structures and monuments, but the bloodshed was horrendous in September of 1862... and I like being there. I've also spent some time at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness, Bentonville (NC), and Spotsylvania and then passed through places like Petersburg, New Market, Manasses, etc. We're planning an extensive Civil War battlefield vacation for sometime next year and I totally can't wait. That will include a stop at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond.
