A project organised by the University of Oxford with funding from the the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC). It provides free access to over 6,500 items about the First World war (1914-1918) which were contributed by members of the public between March and June 2008.They include diaries, letters, manuscripts, photographs, oral histories, memorabilia and other ephemera from ex soldiers, service personnel and the homefront.
