I was doing a little research about American POW's being interred in Switzerland during WWII. While doing that I found out that Germany, France, and England had an agreement (1914) in WWI which allowed severely sick or wounded POW's to be moved to Switzerland into hospitals for treatment. The idea was that Swiss doctors would try to treat the prior POW's so they could be repatriated back to their respective country for possible military service. I threw a link for those interested. It seems like a great project to me but with some obvious flaws. http://www.switzerland1914-1918.net/prisoners-of-war-interned-in-switzerland.html Gotta run down the block to the WWII area and post this piece of trivia and maybe find the other answers I am looking for. click...bye
