Planning to be in Gettysburg on Valentine's Day? I could only hope, but I won't be able to make it. Anyhow, as part of their 2016 Winter Lecture Series the lecture on 14 Feb will be about military medicine advances through the years starting the tremendously large field hospital at Gettysburg... Camp Letterman. The stories coming from Letterman are sometimes inspiring for a few lucky soldiers, but mostly horrifying considering the extent of the casualties.

This particular lecture will be held at the Museum & Visitor Center in Gettysburg at 1:30 p.m. and lasts for one hour. Dr. Jonathan Letterman helped to set it all in motion and the talk sounds very interesting. Education Specialist Barb Sanders will be presenting.

Camp Letterman was situated where the present day Giant Foods sits. I go into the store each time I'm in town, but every single time, I am thinking of and feeling what *was*... not what is there now. Emotional area.
