    Hello!

I'm trying to find some information about the reasons that Britain had for deporting german POWs during the Second World War. I know that one of them is the Fifth column Scare, but are there other reasons ?

    Thanks ;)

That is a easy one. UK had to import millions of tons of food just to feed her own population. All this came in ships, mostly from North America. Very little was returning to North America on the return trips for these ships. Why not ship POWs to Canada in these ships? And this would ease the problem of feeding the POWs in UK.

Additionally they could be used as labor in Canada.
