This website was created by the Library of Congress. It provides free access to a collection of several hundred primary resource materials relating to the experience of servicemen and women and civilians on the home front (in the USA) during a number of 20th Century conflicts. These include: World War I (1914-1918), World War II (1939-1945), the Korean War (1950-1953), the Vietnam War (1965-1975), and the Persian Gulf War (1991). Accessible materials include: photographs, maps, letters, ration books, oral histories, military papers and diaries. They offer a fascinating insight into the American experience of war. The site includes a bibliography of further reading.
