During the Civil War, what is your favorite technology that was developed that probably wouldn't have been developed otherwise, or it would of taken longer? My favorite technology are the two iron clad boats that fought for 4 hours in the first battle without destroying each other and then fought even more later on. I found that interesting because of their ability to withstand fire unlike many other wooden ships those days! Looking forward to hearing what you think!
