    The first Australian POW of the Japanese. Came across his story while working on the Skip-bombing thread - http://ww2chat.com/forums/war-air/4693-development-skip-bombing.html

    He saw the best and worst of the human character during his imprisonment.

    Austin Best was probably lucky he was not on Christmas Island as he may have been one of those killed by the locals.
