    The Centre for First World War Studies is part of the University of Birmingham. Its website provides information on his undergraduate and postgraduate courses and ongoing research. In addition it also offers free access to some articles from its academic publication - First World War Studies journal, bibliographies of recommended books on the 1914-1918 conflict, glossaries of terms and nicknames of generals associated with the conflict, online research guides and an increasing number of edissertations and eprints pridcued by its staff and students. These cover all aspects of the conflict including British army tactics and battles; the battle of the Somme; trench war fare and the oral history expereince of individual soldiers.
