    2nd Bn., Northamptonshire Regiment
    who died age 32
    on 25 December 1914
    Son of the late Charles Alexander Watts and Edith Alma Watts, of Lansdowne, Marlborough, New Zealand.

    LE TOURET MEMORIAL

    Appointed 2Lt with the Northamptonshire Regiment from the New Zealand Local Military Force in Jan 1906. Promoted to Lt in Feb 1909 & Captain in July 1913. He went to France with the 2nd Btn on 6th November 1914. He was killed in action on the 25th December 1914 aged 32, his name is on the Le Touret Memorial.
    Son of Charles Alexander & Edith Alma Watts of Lansdowne, Marlborough, N.Z. & brother of Capt R R Watts.

    A NEW ZEALANDER KILLED IN ACTION. CAPTAIN WATTS. LONDON, 30th December. Captain Charles Harold Reynell Watts, a New Zealander, has been killed in action this Day. Captain Watts, whose death is recorded to-day, was a member of a well known New Zealand family, one of many who pursued their military studies at Nelson College. He gained a commission in the Imperial Army from the Nelson College Cadets in 1905. Deceased held the rank of captain of the 2nd Battalion of the North Hamptonshire Regiment <the old 58th).
