Before reading the Railway Man, I am reading this book, only 154 pages, so likely to be a "tabloid" version of the battle. Published by the History Press in 2012. Battle Story is a series of books detailing specific battles which include, Rorkes Drift 1879,Ypres 1914-15, Loos 1915, Gallipoli 1915, Tobruk, El Alamein 1942, Arnhem 1944, Battle of the Bulge 1944/45, Iwo Jima 1945.
Sounds awesome! I love reading about specific battles in detail. In some books/movies the battles are just overlooked or even just given a few pages to describe a small detail on them but when there's a specific battle focused on it's amazing and fascinating. I'll definitely look into this book and try to find more like it if I can. Thanks for the heads up!
