This database provides access to a searchable database of over 3,000 records relating to British prisoners of war 1914-1918. They were compiled from WO 161, by the Committee on the Treatment of British Prisoners of War and provide the main source of personal information for Prisoners of War (PoWs) captured during the First World War. Some reports include medical details, others have fuller narratives and interviews with POWs offering insight into daily life in prisoner of war camps. Users may search the database free of charge. viewing full images requires payment. The site also offers research guides for interpreting the information.
