a Sticky thread is when a thread has literally been stuck tot he top of the menu and doesn't move from there, that way a thread people will want regularly is always at the top and not lost further down the list.

This is great ..... a number of them here I had forgotten about and that I do not have in DVD, so you are preparing me a nice shopping list. Lets give it a few days and then make a master list. Also, some I have never heard of before? For years I thought "Guns of Naverone" was a true story. Where are the Australian ones - or are those the ones I don't recognize?
To be honest the only i haven't heard of is A Canterbury Tale, though I've probably watched it in the past. And the greatest war film ever made is Kelly's Heroes dammit
Air: Dambusters Sea: The Battle of the River Plate - real ships! Land: Saving Private Ryan but it's been so long since watching one that I can't really do better than that.
John Ford's "They Were Expendable" it's a rather rambling narrative with little episodes and detours --- much like the war itself I suppose. And what about "Patton"? MK MILITARY INTELLIGENCE AND YOU! Trailer

I remember being enthralled with Das Boot ...... especially when one of the guys had a breakdown ! that movie affected me for a long time afterwards ! I remember being told " it's just a movie " !!

What about non-WW2 war films - I'm sure they could be slipped in too Having said that I can't think of any that stand out for me. The only thing I love is the MASH series, which i put on when I bored. And how sad is this? Havibf looked at the Xmas Day tv listings and finding absolutely nothing I want to watch, I have Decided to watch the Battle of Briatin - Special Edition, with the original musical score. I bought it a few months ago but never got around to watching it. I
Didn't you notice me slip in the WW1 film Random Harvest?:becky: One of my favourite WW1 true stories is Sergeant York!
The Dawn Patrol with Niven and Flynn And no I wasn't drunk when wrote the aove message - just bad a typing
I like hogan"s heroes but they are very weird, comedy show, the things they do to Commandant Klink is unreal, and yet they go unpunished, not real at all. In Das Boot, now there is a movie, I personally like , Yohan I don"t think I spelled it right,. I"ve watched Battle of the Bulge, a few times not to much. And I"ve watched a Bridge to Far.
My two sense on movies. Air: The War Lover, Cold Blue Sky, Battle of Britain, 633 Squadron Surf: Cockleshell Heroes, Das Boot, Midway, PT-109 Turf: Winter War, (the new) Stalingrad (in German), Cross of Iron, Saving Private Ryan Regards, Fix
