There is no section for songs/cd's/music, so I will put it here. My daughter is only 4 years old, 5 next week. I am wondering what I have done to her!!! eep: On my return from The Somme and Ypres last July, I bought a CD. She now knows the words to the following songs.............. It's a long way to Tipperary Pack up your troubles I'll make a man of you oster_oops: Keep the home fires burning Mademoiselle from ArmentiƩres Gassed last night Sing me to sleep Good-bye-ee Oh, oh oh, it's a lovely war Take me back to dear old Blighty When this ruddy war is over. It drives my husband mad, us singing war songs in her bedroom, and keep the homefires buring always makes me want to cry. :cry_smile:I alwys play the cd, when I am putting the ironing away She said "Mummy are all your soldiers dead?" When I tell her yes, and those who survived would have died of old age, apart from Harry Patch. "But mummy I want to see them, can't God make them alive again?" Oh how I wish they could. It's great to hear her, wait to I buy a WW2 CD.
Oh dear Petts, there were lots of WW2 compilation CDs out for the 60th anniversary, but there are now lots of other CDs around, just do a search on Amazon for set names. Glenn Miller, the Dorsey brothers, Vera Lynn, Anne Shelton etc etc etc. Or just whack in VE Day and see what you get in the music section.
Hi Kitty, I do have the V.E DAY 4 CD Set. It has G.I's, Big Band, etc.. What I want, are songs, like a good old cockney knees :Booty:
