My great grandfather, Robert Pride, joined up a month after the Quintinhill rail disaster. His pension and medical records state that he received a gunshot wound to the stomach in November 1917 but not where he was serving when it happened. So far as I can tell, the 7th Royal Scots were in Palestine in 1917. As a side note, whilst recovering in Edinburgh he was apparently given a white feather by some of the ladies of the parish - he promptly exploded at them but the upshot of that hasn't been passed down. He finished the war serving with the 2/10th as part of the coastal defence forces. Does anyone know where I could get further details of his service please? I've not been able to locate his records so I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.
