My Grand-dad served with the Prince of Wales 3rd dragoon guards and was awarded the 1915 star,British war medal and the victory medal ,from what ive been told.
I would like to know what the 3rd Dragoon guards did during the war if that is possible. is there any books that relate to them ?

The link should take you to Amazon and the book, The historical record of the 3rd Dragoons

In the 1920's they amalgamated with the Carabiniers (6th Dragoons) to form the 3rd/6th Dragoon Guards. They were then renamed the 3rd Carabiniers (Prince of Wales's Dragoon Guards) in 1928. In WWII they served in India & Burma. In 1971 they amalgamated again, this time with the Royal Scots Greys to form today's regiment, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers & Greys)
