Nice going everyone. Blasted through this milestone earlier today. Our next milestone is 500 members. Ten short at present. The last post count reported was 12,000 on March 25. 3,000+ posts in 72 days - just under 42 posts per day. Not bad!
The 42 posts per day is down on the average of 66-67 in our first 10,000 posts but the posts per thread is still nicely above six so we're still discussing well but have slowed down slightly in our old age!
I am trying to direct as many of the Canadian pals to the site as I can, but my pals are mainly WW1 researchers, so I have been trying to tell them it is time to start looking at their parents as well .... some have caught on and registered. I sent a few invites to others this evening and also directed them to the part of the site that is pre and post WWII. I hope that is okay? I hope here that it is the "quality of posts" and not the "quantity of posts" that is the most important issue. I am not a prolific poster but I like to think that when I do post it is quality information that is valuable to at least 5 other members. If not, I should not post it. Do we have a count on where the membership is located? How many from ANZAC, EU, NA etc.?
Quality is always what we are looking for and this usually comes with members who like the look and functionality of the site and it also fills a niche in their knowledge requirements. Fun, off topic threads allow people to post events in their daily lives and allows an insight into what is happening around the world in real time. Hopefully, forums here have been set to allow a one stop shop as WW2 has roots in previous conflicts as well as those post 1945.
