I hardly ever heard anything about the Russian air wars, but what I have heard is that the LA-7 was the most effective Russian Aircraft.
There is no way the American pilots would have known what was going on at that camp.
And maybe it was the Japanese telling their troops to commit suicide instead of actually trying to defeat the Americans.
The Germans would just think that they are more superior than the Japanese and vice versa causing just another conflict.

They were used to intimidate the Japanese and to make them think that we had hundreds of these bombs, and that we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
