I didn't even think to check for this one on here!

Has anyone been hearing or researching about the ISIS threat to America? I noticed the man running it Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is gathering his peeps.

I'm not sure about you but I haven't seen anyone making videos like that towards the USA so strongly. I personally think there will be a war, considering I spend my time with Jesus, and he brings to light many things for me.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadhi sounds odd to my "ear". It appears to be a nom-de-guerre (war name). (I used to me an analyst for the US Army, and spoke Arabic)

I do not see any Arab/Islamic force attacking the US directly. At most they might attempt a few terrorist strikes, but the US has so much military power as to render this unlikely.

Man I wish I was like, a know it all. Then I would be able to tell you what's really up. I know God warned me of an attack on the USA, but we will only know if it ever happens. If anything, have you noticed all the random exercises in urban areas? Some sighted a Black Hawk down low shooting off blanks. Close enough to touch it, and in an urban area?

Anyways thanks for your post I liked it, you weren't a hater but a speak your minder.

I'm glad you posted this. Restores some of my faith that the entire world hasn't lost its thinking and reasoning powers.

Sure ISIS is a threat. Worse than Al Qaeda (I have a post here about it somewhere.) And the reason I made that first statement I made is because I am stunned (maybe appalled) at the number of people making statements about America needing to "mind its own business" and "stay out of the affairs of other parts of the world."

It drives me CRAZY because no one making the statements seems to be using reasoning powers. So there's a group more into terror than even Al Qaeda and they're going to magically stay in Iraq and Syria, behave themselves like good little boys and never ever try to hit countries in the West... and all will be fine. Shaking my head here. BIZARRE!

Well guess what? While everyone is so busy trying to think of ways to be nice to the terrorists and stay out of their way, rest assured that they're making their plans. They must be so happy to know that they'll have such an easy time of it with so many people thinking Western countries need to "stay out of it."

A great man once said: "We have nothing to fear but Fear itself..." That was true then (1930s) as it is today.

That does not mean one should unilaterally dis-arm. The best deterrant to bullies and other aggressors is vigalence and readiness. That same great man had the foresight to plan re-armament, a step which saved months of time when needed.

But there is no need to antegonize. The is no need to cross the line and become a bully-nation one's self. Another great man coined the phrase: "Talk softly but carry a big stick...."

I am sadly aware that the biggest aid and assistance for al-Queda has been the aggression and predation as started by the Junior Bush administration. As a third philosopher pointed out "We have met the enemy and he is us."

Wonder if a great man (or woman) ever said "Get complacent and watch some towers fall"? Or "Talk softy and carry caskets of terrorist victims because no one believed the attack would happen"? I'm thinking there are always two sides... are there not?

Um... and what exactly did Bush do *before* they killed thousands in New York, PA, and D.C.? (Not saying there isn't anything... I'm totally not up to speed on current warfare, but it seems so easy to blame Bush2 on things that were 100% the fault of others that it's almost comical now. Run out of toilet paper? Musta been Bush's fault. I mean, sheesh!)

I think that ISIS poses more of a threat to the people in the middle east than it does to the US. ISIS's agenda is not to attack the US but rather to take over much of the middle east and make a new unified, Islamic nation. A lot of people in the middle east are not likely to take this sitting down, and in the next few months we are probably going to see a lot of uprisings over there that are likely to take a huge toll on both life and property.

I think ISIS can be compared to North Korea in a way, they know that if they make a direct threat to the US they will be worldwide news and I think that's exactly what they want. Also, only crazy people would threat the USA...

Very true. We are the most diverse country out there, like the bible describes perfectly. It would be an economic failure to have a major disaster here in the US. Just imagine that. They will be able to put the world into chaos and then select a New World Order with one man as their "Leader". I see this happening any time now. I don't know about you guys, but I believe in God, and he never fails me, ever!

God bless everyone I hope no one turns to the dark side, mwuhahahaha! LIONZFIRE

Well... I agree to a certain degree, Peninha. But bin Laden was crazy for the things he did, right? I think if we say that only fools would threaten the USA and then get complacent thinking it won't happen, then maybe they're not the only fools, ya know?

I'd say that only crazy people would follow *through* with the threats but history proves that sometimes they do.

I also agree that getting themselves seen/known on the news is what they want, but I don't think anyone can predict whether the threats alone are going to be "enough" exposure for them or if they'll try for something bigger.

So am I to assume you're totally disregarding al-Baghdadi's audio-taped threat a few months ago saying, and I quote, "Our last message is to the Americans. Soon we will be in direct confrontation, and the sons of Islam have prepared for such a day, so watch, for we are with you, watching.” Unquote.

Now I know that it may be a lot of hot air, but where is the wisdom in ignoring it as hyperbole?

ISIS might be a threat to Western interests, but not to the West as a whole. It might overtake the region, at which point it'll do precisely what every other Middle Eastern power has done and spend its time and effort fighting its neighbours due to minor doctrinal differences.

ISIS appears to be another name for the BA'ATH Party, the entity based on the Sunni Sect of Islam. The Ba'ath Party had influence over Iraq and Syria; Saddam Huessein was of the Ba'ath Party. And the Ba'ath Party never threatened the US.

    It did, however, worry ISRAEL.

Interesting. You read the quote from their leader I posted above threatening the US directly, right?

Another great man one said: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time; but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

Israel has a lot of public relations operatives and clout in the US. It is their job to keep the American people afraid of Arab/Muslim terrorists. I feel this is just another attempt to fool the American people into fearing a boogie-man.

Hmmm.... well, I'll pretend we were talking about Israel and ask you, then, Interrogator, if you feel the tape with their leader threatening the US directly was... what? An Israeli dressed up in a costume to look like him?

Or where exactly do you think that tape came from? You feel it's fake? (I'd highly doubt THAT one!) Or that he was just "teasing"? Tell me more, by all means!

But truly, can we keep Israel out of it for now? This is about the threat from ISIS to the United States... even *he* didn't mention Israel in his rantings. (Well not the part I know about anyhow.)

I guess I'm feeling like the interrogator now. I'm sorry for that, but I don't understand how someone can hear that threat and still say someone's trying to "fool the American people" when right there it is in our faces.

I do know that for some reason, news generally gets distorted by the time it reaches other countries, and I have no idea where you're writing from, so maybe that's the part I'm not grasping?

I think you read more than was intended to the translated quote from the spokesman from ISIS. Read it again, but read without FEAR in your heart.

    Don't panic.

Yes, the US needs to keep vigilance, but like Grant at Shiloh, keep a cool head. All is not lost, yet.

I have no fear. I have no panic. But I'm not stupid either, and "soon we will be in direct confrontation" really doesn't have a lot of alternate interpretations, so it's good to know there's awareness and there's vigilance.

I haven't heard anyone in America panicking. I have to assume the reason is because we are aware of the threat and are watching them back, ya know?

The worst thing is hearing someone say that there's not been a threat... or that they'd never threaten America... when yes, it did happen, so thinking it won't happen is moot.

Thank you for your thoughts here. If you interpret "direct confrontation, be watching" in another way than I do, that's fair. :D

No one has paniced in the US? I guess you have not been hearing the news which I have heard.

Americans have been slowly losing their rights due to the slow panic which has been sold to them by various social engineers. Many people have been placed on the "No Fly List" by various operatives of the TSA because they are Muslim, or their name resembles someone who is suspected of being a terrorist. There are checkpoints miles any international boarder checking "papers". And some five years ago a flight out of Minneapolis-St.Paul airport after an Islamic conference was stopped because someone paniced because there were Imams praying before takeoff.

Not all Muslims are bad people, just as not all Christians are good people. BTW, are you represented in Congress by Keith Ellison? He is a muslim, the first ever sworn into the House.

Our discussion was about you telling me (for some reason) not to panic about ISIS. I'm not sure how we got to profiling and no-fly lists and Keith Ellison.

My statement was that I have not seen anyone panic about ISIS threats because we are vigilant and aware now. I don't know how the train jumped the tracks and got to Congressman Ellison.
