    Just after the war ended, a number of Official Despatches were released via the London Gazette. Most historians have used these as the starting points for their research.

    Below are the ones pertaining to the Air Force activities between the run up to the war with Japan to the its defeat:

    Very interesting reading. Provided insights on why the Japanese Army was able to make quick advances and why only limited defense was deployed by the Allies, sans USA, prior to December '41.
