Very interesting website and worth some additional reading! The early boats were death traps by all accounts, so that would explain the great amount of losses!

I haven't read many underwater surveys of RN subs so thanks, John. Can't remember any searches for specific RN boats either. Over the past few years, the only boats found seem to be USN, IJN or U-boats.
