I'm ashamed to say I missed any earlier news of his passing. Had only just started learning about his exploits. I love this: Terry O'Brien, who died on September 10, retained his inquiring mind into old age, mastering the internet and peppering his family in Australia with pithy e-mails containing advice, his favourite poems and sardonic one-liners. The world is so much poorer.
His books: Chasing After Danger: Combat Pilot's War Over Europe and the Far East, 1939-42 Out of the Blue: Pilot with the Chindits The Moonlight War: Story of Clandestine Operations in South East Asia, 1944-45
