    Sir Derrick Bailey forms Aurigny Air Services. In its first year, the airline carries 45,000 passengers between Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney.

    Aurigny bans smoking on all scheduled flights, long before any anti-smoking campaigns.

    Aurigny begins a daily, direct service to Manchester Airport from Guernsey. Malcolm Hart is appointed Managing Director.

    Aurigny begins operating daily services to East Midlands Airport from Guernsey.

    aurigny.com is launched, featuring a new on-line booking facility.

    2003
    Aurigny launches a new daily service between Guernsey and Bristol International Airport.

    Aurigny is acquired by the States of Guernsey in a deal to safeguard the future of several key air links, including the threatened Guernsey-London Gatwick route.

    The company starts a three times daily service between Guernsey and Gatwick on 16 June, introducing a 66 seater ATR 72 into the fleet.

    Aurigny begins services to London Stansted from Jersey.

    2004

    2006
    Jan: The airlines millionth passenger is carried on Alderney-Southampton route. Overall, Aurigny has flown 10 million passengers in its 38-year history.

    June: A survey by leading market researchers islandopinion.com reveals that Aurigny is the most popular airline flying out of Guernsey.

    Oct: Aurigny makes national headlines after flying a very rare Albino lobster to safety at Guernsey Aquarium.

    2007
    All inter-island services are now operated by 15-seat Trislander aircraft, with up to 16 flights in each direction per day.

    Jan: Aurigny announces that it will start a scheme allowing passengers to eradicate their carbon footprint.

    Feb: In the last 12 months over 63% of all passengers make their bookings via aurigny.com

    Jun: Aurigny introduces a new website and electronic ticketing.

    Aug: Aurigny announces order for two new ATR72-500 series aircraft, to be delivered in early 2010.
