Hello, I am wondering whether anyone can help me with the formula for converting pounds into Millimetres. As in What would the xxx Pounder Field Artillery piece convert to in millimetres?

    Pounds/millimeters.

    Hi Cobber,
I don't think there is a table for conversion from pounds/millimeters.
If you are after the calliber of each weapon, each will have to be looked up in that guns specification.
A Gun is designated either by the standard missile it fires and/or the size of its bore.
I should think, because of the variety of weights of the various types of round, this would not be possible to be laid down as a table.
As an ex Field Gunner I can tell you that the bore of a 25 pdr is 3.45" or about 85mm.
I am posting examples of the various types of shell fired, to give you an idea of the different weights of each round.

    Cheers
