    This is one of a series of posts to mark the international Rugby players who died during The Great War. If anyone has further information on the men concerned, I’d be most grateful if it could be added to the thread.

    Descamps, Paul Henri played for France

    Internationals: 1 : 1911 S+ (2c)

    Paul Descamps was born on 15 January 1884 in Paris

    Played as a Forward for: Racing Club de France

    War service: Caporal, 246ème Regiment d’Infanterie

    Remarks: Played in France’s first international victory.

    He was killed in action at Souchez on 27 June 1915.
