    Date and Place of Birth - 15th May 1889, Co. Cork, Ireland
    Family - At least one daughter named Katherine
    Early Life - Joined the Royal Navy in 1910 becoming an Instructor in at Eastchurch and Crystal Palace. Transferring to the RAF on its formation in 1918, he undertook an engineering course at Henlow and travelled to India, Singapore and New Zealand.

    The aeroplane in which F/Cdr C H Collett DSO was killed, and CPO Mech Lacey injured, on 18 August 1915 was Sopwith Type 807 seaplane No 807. It crashed at Kephalo after an engine failure during take off.
