    Hullo there,
I did national service in the Royal Artillery on 3.7 ack ack, three monthd after demob, I signed on in the RAF, trained as electrical fitter, joined 617 Squadron, they flew the Avro Lincoln, then we got the Canberra B2 followed by the B6 which we took on detachment to Malaya for 6 months. I was a special constable for 6 years. Joined Air cadets as a Warrant Officer and stayed 30 years. Received a few medals and awards for my trouble!

    Hi Canberra Man,

Welcome to the forum from another veteran. Also did the cadet thing but as a civilian instructor with Air Cadets but as a Sgt Instructor with Army cadets. Had my own Platoon down in Somerset. My other half is a cousin to probably the most famous 617 Squadron officer, Guy Gibson.
Anyway i hope you enjoy the forum, there's a lot on imformation on here.
