    I think the swastika is a revered symbol in Buddhism as well but, like the Finnish version, is shown as a "square" not a "diamond"...and for some reason, I think it's reversed as well.

    Symbology...starting to sound like a Dan Brown novel!

    Another point about the swastika as related to air forces is that it can be thought of as a schematic for a revolving aircraft propeller, hence its use by the Finnish and Latvian Air Forces from the early 20s. The BMW badge also represents a revolving propeller.

    Possibly in Finland today, many people may feel they can get away with the use of the symbol in that context, but I hope it will be a long time before the same thing can apply in the rest of Europe.
